| Summary of Issue | Need expanded/additional guidance needed for proper versus improper air hose repairs. |
| Justification or Need | Part II, Section 1(h)(4) of the CVSA OOSC addresses improper hose connections and gives one example of hoses spliced with hose clamps. Pictures in the OOSC also only show hoses spliced with hose clamps. Recently there have been instances of hose repairs that utilize a barbed fitting inserted into each hose end with crimped clamps over each hose, there may be other repair methods not addressed in this request. There is confusion as to whether there is only one acceptable hose repair or if a repair using hose clamps the only unacceptable repair. |
| Request for Action | Update the OOSC or CVSA Operational Policy 15 to provide guidance on determining acceptable air hose repairs. |
