| Summary of Issue | In a meeting with a manufacturer discussing warranty and repairs for steering gears the manufacturer stated only Level 3 or more severe leaks should be repaired. Level 1 and Level 2 leaks according to their bulletin should not be repaired and should be monitored at regular maintenance intervals. Our concern is under 393.209(e) "The system shall not leak." I have provided picture example of a Level 1 leak according to the Sheppard Technical Bulletin with a recommendation from the manufacturer to not repair and to monitor at regular maintenance intervals.
