| Summary of Issue | On cab & chassis vehicle that have had a box placed on the back of them secured to the frame by U-bolts - if there are a total of six U-bolts holding the box to the frame and those U-bolts come loose, at what time would placing that vehicle out of service be justified? Secondly, what would the proper code section be used to document the violation and place it OOS? |
| Justification or Need | The U-bolts secure the entire box to the frame of the vehicle. If those come lose, the box is able to move and potentially cause an accident or other mechanical failures. There is no clear code section or violation in the OOS criteria to use for this specific scenario. |
| Request for Action | I am seeking to see if this is a issue that would require an addition to the OOS criteria. |
