| Summary of Issue | I have questions about the new log synthetic wrapper cables that are being used by industry now. I have obtained the criteria the manufacturer uses to determine when these cables are not to be used any longer. The problem is that the manufacturer’s own rules on synthetic cables are more restrictive than the current OOS criteria. My worry is that if the manufacture is saying these type cables are no longer allowed at a certain point of damage, but the OOS does not match, it may result in someone getting hurt or worse. |
| Justification or Need | Since we deal with a large number of trucks carrying logs in western Washington I feel this issue is of high importance. |
| Request for Action | I would like to see the 2018 OOSC updated to reflect the manufacturer's guidelines on when synthetic cable log wrappers are considered unusable. |
