| Summary of Issue | New safety features (technology) that has been tested and will help reduce injury/fatality collisions need to "fast tracked" into the larger truck category as soon as possible. You will hear the argument of cost but we all heard this excuse before with ABS, airbags, stability control, Etc. |
| Justification or Need | When massed produced these cost were reduced and lives are saved. With the growing number of collisions caused by distraction safety features like forward collision warning will save lives. Thank you for your time, Trooper Andrew Stoeckle |
| Request for Action | I request CVSA supports and recommends forward collision warning to FMCSA and NHTSA be mandated equipment in large trucks by 2020. If we continue to wait more lives will be lost! |
