| Summary of Issue | The vehicle was a hydraulic 2 axle straight truck with repairs to the hydraulic line. The hydraulic lines to the rear brakes of the vehicle were repaired using a rubber hose and hose clamps. There was no swelling or leakage at the rubber hose when pressurized. The brake on the right side was operative. The brake on the left side was inoperative. When the rubber was removed both hydraulic lines were broken. If both brakes were operative this vehicle would have not been placed out of service. The North American OOS Criteria does not reference repairs made to hydraulic brake lines. See attached picture |
| Justification or Need | This would be an improper repair to the hydraulic line. |
| Request for Action | There needs to be North American OOS Criteria for placing hydraulic lines that have repairs out of service. |
