| Summary of Issue | In the last week we were stopped at two different scales and our driver's log book examined thoroughly and no inspection report generated. First occurrence in AR on I-40 scale house coming in from TN on 8/19/13 at 0300. Second happened in MO at Platte City scales at 2130 CST on 8/20/13. In both cases drivers were told to bring in all paperwork and log books. The officers in both cases did everything relating to a Level III inspection and let the driver's go because they were clean. The system only works if my company gets credit for the good inspections with the occasional bad. Officers cant just generate an inspection when there is an issue as it defeats the purpose of this system. Our business suffers from this activity and law enforcement repeatedly has expressed that they don't care about the CSA point system and it is not their job to abide by CSA. This system is corrupted daily by this behavior and it costs honest company's a lot of trouble because the numbers are skewed by this on-going behavior. The police agencies resent being regulated by CSA. I have spoke to at least 5 different states and had my head chewed off by Lt.s, Sgt's Cpt's...every level of enforcement has been very negative about my concerns. This is unacceptable and I will continue to fight to get drivers/company the credit it deserves under this failing system. It's a shame and there is nothing I can do but be oppressed by the enforcement community on this issue. My hope is that I am one of many companies bringing this issue to you and you will take steps to protect the integrity of this system. |
| Justification or Need | There must be more communication and accountability in the field. |
| Request for Action | I want to know what can be done to counteract these occurrences. I've lost credit for so many inspections that would have been clean. |
