| Summary of Issue | Since January 1st of this year (2011), Subsection 11(4) of Standard 10 has come into force across Canada’s administrations and all required tie downs or a component of a tie down needs to be marked with the manufacturer with respect to its WLL. Ontario enforcement states that the hooks without working load limit will be given the same working load limit to the tie down to which they are attached. In the province of Quebec, they will be put out of service. |
| Justification or Need | Since the hook is always a component of a tiedown, is this an interpretation issue or do we have some inconsistencies in the application of the Standard? |
| Request for Action | To clarify if the hooks need to be marked and explain if the are some exceptions. |
