| Summary of Issue | The frame bracket that attaches to the torque and support rod which attaches to the vehicle is an OOS condition. This appears to be unreasonable when there is no evidence of the bracket shifting or being loose and 83% (5 of 6) of fasteners are in place and secure. |
| Justification or Need | Other items in Part II of the OOSC allow a percentage of fasteners to be missing or ineffective. Item 2, Coupling Devices, (1)(a) Mounting to Frame (20%), subsection(2)(a) - Mounting Plates & Pivot Brackets (20%), and subsection (3)(a) - Sliders (25%). Also, Item 12. Wheels, Rims and Hubs, (g) allows a certain number of ineffective wheel fasteners depending on total fasteners. |
| Request for Action | Could the fasteners which secure the frame bracket to the frame, be amended using the same principal used in other areas of the OOSC?Suggested Wording:More than 20% of fasteners on a frame bracket missing or ineffective or evidence of cracks or shifting has occurred on either side. |
