| Summary of Issue | Recently, I have sent the below email to our Federal partner, Bill Norris. The response was that this would be a CVSA issue. Currently, a Level III inspection consists of inspecting driver credentials. During at Level III inspection, inspectors check the following, which I would like to be called carrier credentials: 1. UCR Registration 2. Carrier Authority 3. DOT Number's (For failure to register). With this in mind, I respectfully request that Carrier Credentials be added to the Level III inspection criteria. The Level III inspection would be a Driver/Carrier Credentials inspection. |
| Justification or Need | As it stands now, when an inspector discovers the carrier has failed to pay UCR fees or the carrier has an authority issue, the inspector must now conduct a Level II inspection. |
| Request for Action | One of two things: Allow MCMIS uploads for Unit 1 violations in MCMIS. Add a C for Carrier in ASPEN in the violations tab versus Unit 1 or Unit 2. |
