| Summary of Issue | For purposes of this item, the terms wiring and cables have the same meaning. Are we talking about every wire in the engine and battery compartments? Not all wire have the potential to ignite a fire. |
| Justification or Need | The following are a few examples of some of the wires in question: 1. Wiring to and from the ECU of the engine. 2. The different sensor wires like RPM, temperature, or pressure. 3. Low amps circuits. These circuits have a very low to no chance of producing a significant heat or a spark. Are they included in the definition of a "wire". I am not talking about other ancillary equipment like engine compartment light or a clutch control. |
| Request for Action | First, decide if these specific wires should be included or not in this criteria. And, whatever the answer is, draft a document for clarification in the form of an Inspection Bulletin. |
