| Summary of Issue | Since the elemination of the Commercial Vehicle Post Crash Cousre there has not been any couses available from NTC to address in more detail the the various brake systems including air brakes, hydraulic brakes, and electric brakes. Also there is a need to develope courses for the experienced inspectors such as interviewing techniques, false log detection, false document detection, detecting and enforcing ill and fatigued drivers. |
| Justification or Need | There has been talk for the last several years to develope an advanced level one course, and or in-service traing modules were are they? I believe that many juristiction would be more than pleased if they could have a course(s) as mentioned above to offer to thier inspectors for an in-service training. (the only other recourse that they have now is to send personnel back through the NAS level I course). And as far as fatigue (everyone says its a big problem) the training is way overdure for FMCSA and CVSA not to be proactive and do something. |
| Request for Action | To request that FMCSA (NTC) develope and produce the previously mention course or courses in a timely mannor. |
