Summary of Issue

Motor Vehicle Reports that state a driver (especially new drivers) are getting a valid driver's license status when in fact his privileges are suspended. How can industry compete with the state police or CVSA inspectors for entitlement of the same information.

Justification or Need

This is a problem being discussed at our IMTA Safety Management Council meetings, it seems to be a re-occuring problem for a variety of motor carriers.

Request for Action

Industry and state police need the same access to histories of driver records for proper maintenance of driver qualification files and proper evaluation for new hires.
