| Summary of Issue | The Enhanced CMV Inspection Standard does not indicate the defects for chips, discoloration, and tinting in the U.S. should only be applied in the area above the height of the steering wheel, a one inch border on each side and a two-inch border at the top. This is consistent with the regulatory requirement Part 393.60(c) of the regulations. Section 8.11.c(U.S.) should also remove the verbiage “within the area swept by the OEM windshield wipers,” as the first edit discussed would keep the enhanced standard in alignment with the U.S. regulations. |
| Justification or Need | Edit the Enhanced CMV Inspection Standard to apply the defect standards to the portion of the windshield that aligns with the regulatory requirement. |
| Request for Action | Edit Section 8.11 of the Enhanced CMV Inspection Standard to align the windshield defects with the regulatory requirement. |
