| Summary of Issue | Can an inspection on a passenger vehicle in a driveaway-towaway operation count towards the passenger vehicle certification? |
| Justification or Need | FMCSA has an enforcement notice that indicates when a bus is empty, it is operating as a straight truck. Confusion arises when performing that inspection in whether or not we document the unit as a passenger vehicle or a straight truck and if we enforce passenger vehicle regulations in that situation. |
| Request for Action | I request guidance to know if a passenger vehicle in a driveaway-towaway operation is still considered a passenger vehicle for certification and regulatory enforcement purposes. |
