| Summary of Issue | With all the snow most upper northern states, and Canada have seen this year, we are having issues with snow/ice chunks falling off roofs and taking out windshields on cars and pickups and injuring the occupants of these vehicle. This is an issue we deal with every year. |
| Justification or Need | To prevent trucks, busses and trailers from driving down the road dropping snow chucks and ice and taking out windshield and possible saving someone life. |
| Request for Action | To add into the OOS Criteria that when a box truck, bus or trailer with a roof, is 10 foot or higher above the road surface, and a significant amount of snow/ice that at some point will fall off the vehicle when in transit will place that vehicle OOS under 49CFR 396.7(a) |
