| Summary of Issue | CVSA OOS Page 27 Section H. I was given a citation for a cut in an airline that extended thru the first reinforcement ply but not the second reinforcement ply. On the diagram it’s noted “Reinforcement ply (or Plies)”. Common sense would imply that “Plies” would take the place of Ply for tubing that has more than one reinforcement. |
| Justification or Need | The Need in this situation is clarification on multiply tubing. If the first reinforcement ply being compromised is it OOS or if it must be all reinforcement plies. |
| Request for Action | My request is that CVSA OOS standards be updated to reflect multiply reinforcement tubing. Either a notation below stating that on multiply tubing all must be compromised or if a single ply of the multiply reinforcement is OOS |
