| Summary of Issue | The Policy and Regulatory Affairs Committee's Reauthorization Task Force discussed the issue of uniformity of oversized vehicle permitting during emergency situations. It was discussed that the process for oversized vehicles during emergency declarations are handled differently in each jurisdiction, with some jurisdictions providing regulatory relief and others not, causing a variance in how these loads are handled state to state even during regional emergencies that span several states. The Task Force determined that this was topic should be examined by the Size and Weight Committee, not made into a reauthorization policy. |
| Justification or Need | The way these vehicles are handled in each jurisdictions during an emergency needs examined to increase uniformity. |
| Request for Action | Issue needs discussed to determine if CVSA should work toward a solution and if so, what that solution should be. |
