| Summary of Issue | During a Level VI Point of Origin inspection, the vehicle was found to have no valid periodic (annual) inspection decal or documentation. |
| Justification or Need | This should be considered for a Point of Origin violation and prevent the vehicle from obtaining a Level VI Inspection decal. Based on the fact that this is an enhanced inspection and inspectors are ensuring that the vehicle has very few vehicle violations, it would make sense to consider that an invalid or no periodic (annual) inspection should prevent the vehicle from passing Point of Origin. |
| Request for Action | Consider adding the following condition in the in Level VI Flipchart as a Point of Origin inspection item. 36. Proof of Periodic (Annual) Inspection Missing or expired periodic (annual) inspection on any vehicle in the combination. |
