Summary of Issue

There should be a specification in the title, in brackets stating the specific seats that could result in an OOS…any other violation found on a manufactured seat (except for the aisle seat can never result in an OOS…therefore a decal should be issued) It would non-critical inspection item.

Justification or Need

The way it is now, any loose seat that was manufactured in the bus, would be an OOS condition the way the Critical Inspection Item is worded. "Seating" in general includes the manufactured seats, the temporary seats and the aisle seats.

Request for Action

Request that the Title of the Critical Inspection Item be amended to read similar to the Lighting Section to specify what seats. Buses, Motorcoaches, Passenger Vans or Other Passenger Carrying Vehicles - Emergency Exits/Electrical Cables and Systems in Engine and Battery Compartments/Seating (Temporary and Aisle Seats)
