Summary of Issue

To add a guidance to Operation Policy 15 to provide inspectors regulatory guidance when to document 3 specific driveline/driveshaft violations and to match the guidance that is already provided in the Inspection Bulletin 2014-01 Driveline/Driveshaft Inspections

Justification or Need

This change will ensure inspectors have guidance on how to document the 3 driveline/shaft violations.

Request for Action

I would like to add the following guidance to Operation Policy 15: Regulatory Guidance 4. Driveline/Driveshaft When should movement in the driveline/driveshaft not be documented as a violation? ANSWER: A violation should not be noted until one of the following conditions is met: a.Horizontal or vertical movement of slip joint yoke shaft exceeds the CVSA OOSC limit, 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) or; b.Independent movement between opposing yoke ends exceeds the CVSA OOSC limit, 1/8 inch (3.2 mm) or; c.Vertical movement of the shaft in the center bearing carrier exceeds the CVSA OOSC limit, 1/2 inch (12.7 mm)
