| Summary of Issue | We would like to utilize twist locks on our flat bed trailers to haul PODs/containers. We have not received adequate calcification if we would still need to utilize chains for securement when the twist locks are installed for proper securement of the containers. We want to ensure that all DOT laws are being followed. These containers would be secured the same way as intermodal trailers. |
| Justification or Need | We need to know if chains are necessary when using the twist locks. Our trucks will be touring the US for a major sports program. This request is important because we want to be compliant with all Federal DOT laws |
| Request for Action | We are looking for clarification on if we use twist locks on our flat bed trailers to secure our containers, will we still be required to chain down our containers? These twist locks are similar to what is used on intermodal trailers that do not require any chains for securement. |
