| Summary of Issue | A driver of ours had a Level-3 performed yesterday (12/14/2015), and was told by the inspector that by filling out the bottom of a paper log for load and mileage information it can be considered running two logbooks, even though the drivers are writing "using Elogs" on the graph area. We are using the bottom half of the form for trip and payroll information, but not for RODS. Thank you in advance. |
| Justification or Need | Clarification please. Low importance. I would think these items would be "supporting documents" and can be in either paper form or electronic form. The ELD Rule in page 97 states "In today’s rule, the definition of “supporting document,” makes clear that a document can be in “any medium,” consistent with the SNPRM" Our drivers carry additional blank paper log forms to comply with the ELD Rule. There was no violation notated, only a verbal warning was given. |
| Request for Action | I am just requesting clarification. The Colorado State Patrol Inspection report number is: COPM44000852. |
