| Summary of Issue | The attached pictures were sent in of a secondary bracket that is attached to the axle that appears to support the cam shaft. Often the u-bolts that go into the brackets are found loose or there are cracks at the weld where the bracket is mounted to the axle. |
| Justification or Need | Some officers are documenting this as a loose or broken cam shaft support bracket. Is it a cam shaft support bracket and should it be treated the same way as the primary support bracket or tube that is common on an S-Cam brake system? |
| Request for Action | Clarify what the intent of this bracket is and whether it should be included in the 20% criteria as an imminent hazard component. |
