| Summary of Issue | Inspector stops a CMV that is equipped with an inter-connected tire air pressure maintenance system. The inspector notices one tire of a dual (inter-connected) set of tires appears to be under-inflated (possible malfunction of the inter-connected system). No other damage is found to the tire other than the possible under-inflation. |
| Justification or Need | Seeking guidance for uniformity. |
| Request for Action | What is the recommendation of the committee? Should the inspector disconnect the inter-connected system to take an air pressure reading or leave the systems intact and just tell the driver (no violation noted) about the possible problem. |
