| Summary of Issue | Synthetic webbing defects. Current OOSC Item 7.h.(4)(d) – “The tie-down contains knotted webbing splices, repairs, or any other apparent defects (i.e. crushed areas, damaged loop ends, severe abrasions, etc.).” |
| Justification or Need | Should a reference be made to the defect classification table? Without reference 7(4)(d) stands alone and any "cut" defect is OOS. The reference in 7(4)(D) "Knotted webbing splices", is this only when two ends are tied together, or is any knot OOS? |
| Request for Action | Reference the defect classification table in 7.h.(4)(d) & remove the word “splice” from 7.h.(4)(d). |
