| Summary of Issue | The OOS Criteria in section 1B refers to steering axle brakes and section 8G,H, and I refer to steering components. On motorcoaches some tag axles are steerable. The OOS Criteria was not intended to include these steering axles I believe. |
| Justification or Need | Clarification needed to reduce occurence of improperly citing a defect on a passenger carrying vehicle with a steerable tag axle. |
| Request for Action | Request a note be placed in the OOSC under Brakes 1.b. (page 17 April 1, 2005 version) and under steering components 8.g, h and i. (page 39 April 1, 2005 version) stating: NOTE: This section does not pertain to steerable tag axles on passenger carrying vehicles. |
