Law Enforcement to Collect Rear Impact Guard Data on CMVs the Week of Aug. 27-31

During the week of Aug. 27-31, each state’s commercial motor vehicle law enforcement department may select one day of that week to capture data on rear impact guards on trailers and semi-trailers in the United States.
Operation Safe Driver Week Starts Today

On July 15-21, law enforcement personnel will be looking for commercial and passenger vehicle drivers engaging in unsafe driving behaviors. This weeklong safety initiative aims to call attention to driver behaviors, the main cause of crashes, and combat those behaviors through heightened traffic safety enforcement and education.

Fifty-two U.S. and Canadian jurisdictions conducted 11,531 roadside inspections on commercial motor vehicles and removed 1,595 vehicles with brake violations from our roadways on April 25, 2018, as part of CVSA's unannounced Brake Safety Day enforcement initiative.
CVSA Awards College Scholarships to Three High School Seniors

CVSA awarded $1,000 scholarships to three deserving high school seniors to attend the college of their choice this fall. Alan Hansel will attend Temple University; Macy Lott with attend East Central Community College; and Lauren Osias will attend the University of Kentucky.
Brake Safety Week is Sept. 16-22

CVSA-certified enforcement personnel will conduct roadside inspections on commercial motor vehicles for Brake Safety Week, Sept. 16-22, in order to identify and remove CMVs with critical brake violations from our roadways and to call attention to the dangers of faulty brake systems.
High Volume of Large Trucks and Buses to be Inspected June 5-7 for International Roadcheck

Starting June 5, 2018, commercial motor vehicle inspectors will conduct high-volume, high-visibility inspections of large trucks and buses for 72 hours as part of the CVSA's International Roadcheck annual enforcement initiative. Commercial motor vehicles and their drivers will be checked at inspection sites, weigh stations and roving patrol locations along major roadways in Canada, Mexico and the United States.
