| Summary of Issue | NASI Course Field Day. Each class must go out into the field to inspect vehicles. In the past year, I have instructed two classes where we did not go out to perform roadside inspections. One class was due to the weather, the other class never intended to take the students out to the field. We went to an indoor shop and looked at one vehicle. |
| Justification or Need | I feel that this hands on experience is most important to the students and that all states that host a class must have the ability to provide this. If the weather is a factor in going out in the field, then perhaps these classes should not be held in times of bad weather. As an instructor I come to the training knowing that I will be outside to inspect vehicles, shouldn't the states be prepared for that? |
| Request for Action | Consistency. I want all training to be equal for all students to have the same opportunity to inspect vehicles with the instructors available to answer questions and show examples of vehicle defects. |
