| Summary of Issue | The regulations indicate a defect exists in a windshield if two cracks are within three inches of each other, regardless of whether or not they intersect. This defect is not currently in the enhanced standard and should be added. |
| Justification or Need | The Enhanced CMV Inspection Standard needs to include any defect of the regulations to ensure the vehicle is not placed on the road in a condition that would be a violation on a roadside inspection. |
| Request for Action | Add a dispatch defect to the Enhanced CMV Inspection Standard for two cracks within three inches of each other. The Periodic CMV Standard should also be updated to reflect the same conditions. |
