| Summary of Issue | To review the inspection process for hub piloted wheel and tire mounting systems, and provide roadside inspectors with the ability to determine when the mounting system is likely to fail. |
| Justification or Need | CMV wheel and tire separations occur nationwide. These separations cause property damage, injuries and deaths. A review of the inspection of the hub piloted wheel and tire process would hopefully lead to less tire and wheel separations reducing injuries and deaths on our roadways. |
| Request for Action | I would request a review of the hub piloted wheel and tire assembly to create an OOS regulation for unsafe wheel and tire sets. More information will follow this action item. |
