| Summary of Issue | With the advancement of technology our company has moved on AOBRD that have the HOS instructions contained in the ABORD (ZONAR)tablet that can removed from the docking station and can be provided at roadside to the officer if requested. 395.15 G specifies an instruction card has to be provided on details of ABORD operation and blank logs must be carried. Would it be possible to address at next committee meeting to allow electronic instruction in lieu of paper be acceptable as it is the same information, easy to produce, and more legible than some paper information. |
| Justification or Need | To provide law enforcement with log operation information more timely and efficiently. Instructions on tablet operation will provide law enforcement in the field easier access to log information |
| Request for Action | I respectfully request that this information be reviewed for potential changes in regulation language or directive to law enforcement that electronic instructions meets the same standard. |
