| Summary of Issue | An MCI was stopped for inspection. During the course of inspection, a strong sulfuric acid smell was noticed. Inspection of the battery area indicated the battery (a sealed type) was badly leaking acid, and it was smoking. Connections were tight and no evidence of any corrosion. It appeared the battery was literally burning itself up. |
