| Summary of Issue | In light of the CVSA petition letter to FMCSA to include the clamp type, long stroke, and rotochamber data reference charts from Part II of the NAS OOSC into 393.47(e) of the FMCSR's, I feel that a petition to include the bolt and DD-3 data should be prepared as well. |
| Justification or Need | With all the brake charts included in the FMCSR's under 393.47(e), there will a unified code section that can be utilized if these brake types are found to be out of adjustment during inspection. Once included in the FMCSR's there will be no need for the use of 396.3a1ba to be used to document violations of any type and can be eliminated from the ASPEN system. The suffix on the section is used to identify brakes found out of adjustment whose types are not identified in the FMCSR's. |
