| Summary of Issue | In Operational Policy 5, Page 13 referencing combination OOS. Paragraph 2.b. is not supported in the OOSC. There is currently no OOSC for a defective wiring cable between tractor and trailer. |
| Justification or Need | If there is a defect in the cable the violation would show up in the trailer lights and the trailer would be OOS until the lights are repaired. Roadside inspectors would not be able to detect most issues with the cable unless they would see a clear break. Any defect hidden by the outer sheath would need a meter to find. |
