| Summary of Issue | The rules that currently govern the re-certification for a deployed service member are to stringent, need to be more in line with most law enforement agencies policies and go against the returning service members veteran rights. |
| Justification or Need | The returning policies for most law enforcement agencies do not include going back to the academy or re-taking the same tests that were administered in the academy. Yet in effect that is what the current policy of the CVSA is. To require a test on both the part I & II (and in my case the Hazmat) is complete over kill. Additionally the contributions of the individual service member to the security of this country are put at a MINIMUM by the current policy of the CVSA. |
| Request for Action | The policy for returning service members needs to be changed and to be more in line with the policies of most law enforcement agencies. A one day update and after that the allowance of an appropriate time to conduct the required 32 inspections. |
