| Summary of Issue | Some inspectors have stated that they would ask to see an Ontario air brake "Z" endorsement when driving the following vehicle type. 4000 series International mid size truck with hydraulic wheel end brakes and an air powered power parking brake. Units have an air compressor, air drier, reservoir, chamber, air gauge, dash control push / pull control valve and shoes and drum arrangement at the differential input attached to the drive shaft. I have been informed by CVSA and by the Ministry of Transportation Ontario that an Ontario air brake endorsement "Z" endorsement would not be required. Just not sure if all the inspectors are aware of this situation. |
