Summary of Issue

CVEO's who are also members of military Guard/Reserve units face extended deployments at any time. There is a possibility of losing current certifications for reasons out of their control. There is a need to waiver their certification time limits.

Justification or Need

Due to training requirements of some call-ups, some are sent to extended military training prior to being deployed to a war zone. On their return they can be past the time limit for retaining certification. Some agencies cannot afford to retrain them.

Request for Action

Waiver the current time limits for certification. Give a 6 month extension from date of release from military commitments or return from deployment. Allow current certifications to remain until recertification numbers are achieved within the 6 months.
