| Summary of Issue | Requests clarification of the definition of a "saddle-mount." Specifically, is a boom connecting two tractors in a triple saddle mount driveaway/towaway operation considered a saddle-mount? It appears to fit the definition of a tow-bar rather than a saddle-mount (393.710). Picture provided. |
| Justification or Need | Companies are starting to use this configuration and it doesnt appear to meet the definition. I am looking for a clarification for enforcement purposes. |
| Request for Action | I would like the Vehicle Committee to review this problem and provide guidance. |
