| Summary of Issue | The number of motorcoach inspections that are required to be conducted for an inspector to complete his/her certification are extremely out of proportion with the rest of the inspection certification requirements. |
| Justification or Need | A motor coach certified inspector must first complete the NASI training which requires 30 Level I inspections to be completed. This is following a two week CVSA course. The CVSA Motorcoach Course is a 3-day training course and requires the same Level I Certified Inspector to conduct, under supervision, 24 motorcoach inspections. It is difficult for the inspectors to find enough motorcoaches without reinspecting the same ones. NC does not conduct enroute inspections at this time. |
| Request for Action | We would like for the training committee to review this requirement and consider reducing the number of required motorcoach inspections for certification to eight (8). |
