| Summary of Issue | This is a new kind of brake lining system. The brake linings are attached differently, there are 4 segments that are clamped to the shoe. Guidance is required on this type of brake. |
| Justification or Need | The floating grippers secure the lining by wedging into the sides. The grippers bolt to the shoe and extend up the side of the lining to the point that they clamp tightly into it. Neither rivets nor adhesive directly bond the lining to the shoe. |
