Senators Introduce HOS Bill

On December 20, Senators Ayotte (R-NH) and Johanns (R-NE) introduced legislation (S.1891 (PDF) (opens in a new tab)) that would suspend the current hours of service (HOS) 34-hour restart provision, until FMCSA has completed their field study provision and the Government Accountability Office can conduct a review of that study. This is a companion bill to legislation (H.R.3413 (PDF) (opens in a new tab)) introduced by Congressmen Hanna (R-NY), Rice (R-SC) and Michaud (D-ME) in October of last year.
